Community Development

Mountain biking is a great tool for building a healthy community that supports people and helps them grow and develop. Whether it’s surrounding our youth, helping someone become active for the first time in their life, or walking beside someone through a pivotal life moment, the relationships built around mountain biking have impact beyond recreation. Trailstoke’s Director, Kevin, invests in projects, programs, and relationships that build the mountain bike community and the connections it fosters. Trail advocacy, bike parks, youth teams, racing, group rides, and riding with friends are all things we believe build the mountain bike community.

We can help your community through skills clinics, leadership training, risk management planning, and consulting on mountain bike trails and skills parks.

Here are some local programs that we serve with:

IMBA – Fidalgo Trail Riders
Kevin is the founding and current president of Fidalgo Trail Riders, a chapter of the International Mountain Bike Association in Anacortes, WA. FTR has been working with the Anacortes Parks Department to develop a bike park in Anacortes, maintain trails in the ACFL, and educate mountain bikers and other user groups to help sustain a thriving local trail community.

Washington Student Cycling League – Anacortes MTB Team
Kevin was part of the founding group of coaches for the Anacortes MTB Team in 2014. He currently serves as the co-head coach. The team has grown from 11 riders and 4 volunteers to 52 riders and 23 volunteers in 2017. The team has become a vital part of the Anacortes MTB Community.
